On 26th November 2003 the Société Nautique de Genève announced the city that would host the 32nd America’s Cup. Beating out competition from Lison, Naples, and Marseille, Valencia was selected to have that honour.

Valencia is blessed with a number of excellent beaches, among the finest in Spain. To the north of the city are Malvarrosa and Las Arenas,

After a day spent relaxing on the beach Valencia offers plenty of opportunities to live it up at night. The city boasts one of the highest concentrations of nightclubs in Spain, and people travel from miles around to party on the “Ruta del Bacalao”.

No mention of Valencia could be complete without talking about food. Valencia is famous as the home of the paella. It’s worth noting that in Spanish, “paella” means a kind of rice dish, and does not, as is often thought, have to include seafood.
